the knowledge hub

The Knowledge Hub is where The English Club shares ideas, stories, and research. It brings together reflections from our programs, applied studies on education and empowerment, and short insights on broader themes that shape learning and participation in the Maldives. This is our space to think, reflect, and connect.

Featured Research

Speaking Politics: Communication, Language, and Women’s Participation in Governance in the Maldives

Our first research project funded by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) explores how communication and literacy shape women’s political participation in the Maldives. By studying language, confidence, and civic engagement, we aim to highlight the barriers and opportunities for women in leadership and decision-making

Our Insights

our research approach

We use applied research to understand how language, empowerment, and social participation connect in the Maldivian context. By observing and evaluating participant outcomes, we continuously refine our programs and share insights that can inform policy and practice. Our research is not abstract, it’s grounded in the lived realities of learners and communities

Through the Knowledge Hub, we aim to contribute to local and global conversations on education, literacy, and empowerment. Whether through a short reflection or a detailed study, our goal is to connect learning with action, and evidence with opportunity
